It is so hard to make sense of it. It is so incredibly sad. She had gone to rehab several times. I don't have anything either. The parents, family and friends she left behind are in my prayers. As for Amy, I hope she is at peace and finally free from her pain.
Such a loss and a tragedy, as addiction all too often is. If anything positive can come from this I hope that it’s more attention and focus on the disease of addiction. I pray Amy’s life isn’t in vain and that this might help get people talking and looking at this horrible disease a little closer and in a different light for a change. Nothing changes if nothing changes…. My prayers and sympathy go out to Amy’s parents, family and friends.
This is just sad beyond all words. And the thing that really bothers me is that there are probably a dozen or more young singers and actors who are currently taking the same risks poor Amy did. Today, tomorrow, or next week, we could just as easily be reading about them.
By the way, if your friends say they only drink so they can sleep, call them on it. Recent research shows that alcohol consumption actually inhibits restorative sleep.
